Fabriano opens to accessible tourism.

The increase of tourism linked to people with disability is slowly becoming more and more present in the goals of those who deal with territory promotion. In this way also Fabriano decided to start an accessibility project to let those with movement difficulty enjoy the beauties of the city. Thanks to the initiative “Accessible tourism: equal opportunity and development possibilities” it will be finally allowed to people with disability to visit the artistic and landscape attractions of the Marche city, and moreover to taste enogastronomic specialties. The project plans to improve the access to facilities and to project a map that points out the most easily accessible places of tourism interest. The initiative has been presented some days ago to the Council by the assessors Giovanni Balducci and Renato Paoletti (respectively in charge for tourism and social services), next to the representer of the association of services for volunteering “Strabordo” (represented by the president Valeria Poeta and her vice Stefania Cipolletta). The two assessors have declared that “the goal is the one of point out and put online the accessible paths to those who have temporarily or permanent disability, but who nevertheless must be able to enjoy the universal right to travel and know». An important role in the initiative will be played also by the local restaurant and accommodation facilities.
